Notice of storage for temporary modular housing units

This summer, a number of deconstructed temporary modular housing units will be moved to səmiq̓ʷəʔelə for storage. They are being relocated from a site in Vancouver that will be redeveloped into long-term housing. These modular unit shells are not in habitable condition and will be stored at səmiq̓ʷəʔelə until they can be moved to a location with the necessary infrastructure to create safe, functional housing.

Work to prepare the site may begin this week, with the modular shells arriving as early as August 12. The modular units will be delivered one at a time using a truck and crane to the Old Transportation Station site near the roundabout on Clover Street. Noise associated with site preparation and heavy machinery may occur between 7:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. Monday to Friday, and between 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. on Saturdays. This work is expected to take place until October 2025.
